Basically a tank and spank, Legbarthil is a lot like the final boss in Skumfil. Legbarthil spawns poison clouds that inflict extremely DoT every few seconds, making kiting a necessity for survival. It will also root a random player, leaving them helpless if they get caught in the poison cloud; if a player is rooted, have the tank pull Legbarthil away at once before it releases a poison cloud. When its health reaches 80k, 45k, and 15k, it will spawn egg sacs that release spiderlings if the egg sac is not destroyed quickly. The spiderlings will try to heal Legbarthil as soon as they appear; if they succeed, Legbarthil will recover approximately 30k of its health. They can be killed before they reach Legbarthil, but they move very quickly and are not aggroed easily. Ranged DPS is valuable here, as the egg sacs may spawn in a poison cloud, making them dangerous for melee attackers to hit. Gladiola Famer is rescued here.

Thadúr is up on a rickety wood tower with Úmheryn (a vile cauldron) which is about to bubble over and destroy pies! This introduces a timed element to the fight. Players who have Thadúr's eye on them (big green eye above your head) will drop poison clouds wherever they move to. Hobbits will run out and try to eat the poisoned pies and will need to receive a /slap -- bind that to a hotbar with "/shortcut ## /slap" where ## is a number. 1-12 is your regular hotbar, 13-24 is your Ctrl+ hotbar, 25-36 is your Alt+ hotbar, etc. You must be in close proximity to a Hobbit to slap it successfully, and you must slap most (not all) of the Hobbits in order to even complete the fight - if too many reach the table, the fight will instantly end. Once you destroy the cauldron (all the poison in it apparently evaporates when it is destroyed?), Thadúr runs off.

Challenge Mode

Challenge mode simply involves NOT using the following: There is a small bucket on the porch that will become active a few moments into the fight. It will have a white swirling line around it to show that it is active. If you click on it and run it over to the fire, you will put out the fire, which helps keep the poison from cooking properly. As a result, you will get fewer of the green eyes that cause poison clouds and you will have more time to finish the fight.

If, instead, you attempt to do Challenge mode, you will need to destroy the Caudlron within a limited amount of time. You will receive a 1 minute warning in this mode saying that the poison is almost finished.

Thadúr does a distributed damage attack and he drops poison clouds that do AoE damage if you stand in them. This version of Thadúr has more morale/power than the level 65 version in The Great Barrow but he is only an Elite Master instead of a Nemesis.
  • "Divided you shall fall." Distributed damage attack, group up.
  • "I shall unleash a gift upon those that face me." Get behind him or get killed in one hit.
  • "Poisonous vapors shall grant me strength." Remove his corruption (or suffer through it).
  • "You shall behold the power of Dark Thorn." Get away from him! He's about to drop a poison cloud on himself.
  • "This poison shall have a most interesting effect." He will poison a random player, inflicting a status effect. The exact effects are unpredictable, but can include a stun or fear.

The best technique is to have Thadur facing the tank while the DPS and healer stand behind him. Doing so will allow the fellowship to avoid the one-hit kill attack while also letting them mitigate the damage from the distributed damage attack.
