New Accounts
Creating a New Turbine Account
To create a new Turbine account visit http://myaccount.turbine.com.
Place the product key from a purchased game, free trial, or friend referral into the box labeled "Product Key", and click "Submit"
You will be asked if you have an existing account. Click "No".
You will be taken to an account activation wizard to complete the account creation process.
Choosing a Nickname
Turbine accounts allow you to have multiple game subscriptions under a single account login. If you have more then one game subscription, giving each a nickname, that will easily identify it for you, will allow you to quickly log into the subscription you wish to play from the launcher.
Choosing an Account Name
Your account name (User ID) will be used to login to all game subscriptions under this account. Choose a name that will be easy for you to remember, but will not be easy for someone else to guess.
Choosing a Forum ID
Your Forum ID (Forum Name) will be used to log into the official forums, and will be displayed on any post you make there. You should not use the same name you used for your account, for the sake of account security. Forum names cannot be changed by players, so choose wisely. if you add additional subscriptions to your account, you will be asked to choose a Forum Name for each. If you have more then one subscription to the same game, you should only use a single Forum Name when posting.
Choosing a Payment Plan
You can choose to pay game subscription fees on a recurring payment plan, or with prepaid game cards. Recurring plans require that you enter valid credit/debit card information.
Logging into the Game
After launching the game, and downloading any updates, you will be taken to a login screen. Enter your account name (not your Forum ID) and associated password in the appropriate fields. If you have only one game subscription on the account, you will be taken directly to the server selection screen. Select your server and click "Play".
If you have multiple subscriptions on your account, you will first be taken to a subscription selection screen. Choose the subscription you wish to play and continue.
Logging into the Forums
Go to http://forums.lotro.com and enter your Forum ID (not your Account Name) and associated password into the appropriate fields, at the upper right of the page, and click "Login".
Logging into the Lorebook
On the main page of the Lorebook, enter your Forum ID (not your Account Name) and associated password to login. You will only need to login if you wish to create or edit Lorebook pages/articles.
