The Barandalf is a long stretch of sandy beaches and rocky cliffs lining the Brandywine River from Dwaling in the Northfarthing of the Shire up to the outflow from Lake Evendim. It is largely uninhabited, though some say that tomb-robbers have established a camp in ruins near Annminas. Other creatures dwell here as well: fire-spitting salamanders, strange sand-lurkers, and oversized insects. At night, some say strange lights can be seen upon the shores of the Barandalf.
Hobbit glassblowers from Dwaling often go down to the beaches of the Barandalf to collect sand for their craft, and sometimes folk from the Northfarthing picnic there, but most sensible hobbits avoid the place. The Barandalf can be peaceful, but danger is always lurking nearby.
The Barandalf was created by the developers of The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ to help connect the Shire with Evendim to the north. Most players will first encounter the Barandalf while collecting sand for a hobbit glassblower in Dwaling, or perhaps in search of a certain crew of shipwrecked mariners...
