Shield crafted from a piece of the shell of the great turtle, Nornuan (known by his friends as Franklin), cut from the body after he was innocently slain in his home by a band of merciless and bloodthirsty adventurers seeking pieces of his shell and claws to take as trophy, arms and armament.
Why they sought so vehemently to invade this peaceful creature's home, so intent upon ending his life, when the great beast himself remained content to feed upon the small fish and mosses that grew in his small dwelling and let the rest of the world pass him by, shall likely remain forever unknown.
