[edit] What is a Kinship?

Kinships are formed by like-minded players as a means to socialize, quickly find Fellowship and Raid partners, and often exchange crafting and other items of use to game characters.

Kinships in LOTRO function in basically the same way as Guilds, Clans, or Allegiances function in other games you may have played.

[edit] Creating a Kinship

Talk to one of the Clerk of Kinships who will create a kinship for you.

They can be found in:

Ered Luin

[edit] Ranks and Lifespans

After a period of time the Kinship will gain a rank and certain abilities will open up.

Rank 1 - Creation: Kinship Chat, max 1000 members
Rank 2 - 24 hrs: Message of the Day, max 1000 members
Rank 3 - 4 days: Kinship Titles, max 1000 members
Rank 4 - 10 days: Officer Chat, max 1000 members
Rank 5 - 30 Days: Kinship Mail, max 1000 members
Rank 6 - 60 Days: Kinship Auctions, max 1000 members
Rank 7 - 90 days: Kinship Housing, max 1200 members
Rank 8 - 180 days: max 1300 members
Rank 9 - 270 days: max 1400 members
Rank 10 - 360 days: max 1500 members

[edit] Kinship Types

In addition to being listed alphabetically under the "All" category and listed according to the Servers on which Kinships are individually based, Kinships are listed here according to "Type". A Kinship's type is based on the members' underlying gaming philosophy or playstyle. A Kinship may be listed under more than one category (type). For example, a Kinship whose players are primarily based in Australia, and whose basic playstyle is casual, will likely be listed under both "Oceania" and "Casual".

Kinships listed on the main Kinships Page, are likely to also be listed on an individual Server's Kinship Page.

[edit] Creating Kinship Pages

Pages may be created using simple text, a Template, or Wiki Markup. Once you have edited the page to your satisfaction, you should link it to all appropriate categories.

SPECIAL NOTE: Because LOTRO does not limit the use of Kinship Names across servers, you may find that a Kinship Page exists with your Kinship Name, but is on another server and is not related to your Kinship. If this should happen, you may want to create the page with your Kinship Name plus the name of your Server. For example, "Kinship:Uber Kinship Arkenstone".
