Class: Captain
  • Skill Level: Moderate
  • Captains are masterful leaders whose commanding presence strengthens allies. Their battle cries strike fear into the hearts of enemies and rally companions to their war banners.
  • Role: Buffer / Pets
  • The armoured Captain possesses some of the most potent enhancements to the heroes of Middle-earth, this makes the Captain a key member of any fellowship. The Captain's ability to summon a Herald pet at later levels, plus the ability to bring fallen heroes back into the fight, make it a desired group class.

[edit] Class Description

The Captain is a very versatile class, possessing skills to buff, heal, and revive your fellows, and to taunt and damage your enemies. Flexibility and adaptability are the keys to playing this class well. One fellowship might need you to play a healing role, and the next may ask that you be a tank. The captain's varied abilities may mean you will find that players are unaware of the roles that a captain can fill. The talented captain will find ways to come forward and explain what you can do for your fellowship.

One of the classes main features is the Herald, a human companion (pet) that can be commanded. The main use of a Herald is to provide durable, mobile buffs to your fellows. At later levels, a Captain can deploy a Standard, which is an item that approximately replicates the Herald's buffs without his tendency to draw aggro and providing higher levels of buffs--but at the expense of mobility.
