Joining the Scholar's Guild
To join the Scholar's guild, you must first be a Historian. Only those that have been trained as an Expert in the Scholar profession will even be considered for acceptance. Speak to any Crafting Guild Trainer, located in some of the crafting areas throughout Eriador. They will direct you to speak with Ethel Applegarth, who can tell you more about the guild.
Gaining Reputation with the Scholar's Guild
After speaking with Ethel, you will need to speak with Melongene Took, who will instruct you in the recipes that will raise your reputation with the Guild.

Scholar Guild Secrets
As your reputation grows, Spiall will, for a price, teach you the secrets to creating batches of dyes, rather than one at a time. You will learn the 'shortcuts' to making ointments and salves, rather than relying on chance.In addition, those that are welcomed as Kindred to the guild will learn the secrets to creating truly legendary items for Lore-masters and Minstrels to use in their travels throughout Middle-earth.
