What is LOTRO DefragSuite?

How does it work?

LOTRO DefragSuite only acts as an UI, helping you in the labour of defragmenting the LOTRO client and increasing the performance of it by doing this.

Which clients will see a boost in performance?

Almost all but mostly those that have been updated several times without any kind of mantenance and those that have been updated recently.

Could it improve the performance in high end systems?

Sure, but it is not the case if you use SSD.

Which operating systems are supported?

Unlike LOTRO FlashBoost it is supported by Windows XP/Vista/7 (x32/x64)

How often is recommended using LOTRO DefragSuite?

It is recommended always after a game update.

Can I download Turbine LOTRO Dat File Defragmentation Tool even if I use Internet Explorer?

Yes, you can but the progress bar during the installation will be inaccurate, it is not an issue of LOTRO DefragSuite, the Internet Server that is hosting the file is not replying the total size of the file correctly.

Why installing it if LOTRO FlashBoost has the similar Defragmentation tools?

Because LOTRO FlashBoost is only supported by some Windows versions and this one is oriented for the rest of the users that do not use LOTRO FlashBoost.

Why do I have to download Turbine LOTRO Dat File Defragmentation Tool separately?

Because Turbine LOTRO Dat File Defragmentation Tool is licenced by Turbine and can't be transferred to any third party software.

Why do I have to download Contig separately?

Because Contig is licenced by Sysinternals (a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation) and can't be transferred to any third party software.

Is this version compatible with Turbine Download Manager?

Yes, this version is compatible with Turbine Download Manager.

Will it corrupt the high-resolution dat file?

No, (since version 1.1) LOTRO DefragSuite uses a workaround to prevent the corruption of the high-resolution dat file (it will be omitted entirely). Sadly it can't be optimized until a new version of LOTRO Dat File Defragmentation Tool is released by Turbine. If you had problems with previous versions of LOTRO DefragSuite you can use the High Resolution Client Repair Tool.
