Footnotes

1

The name 'Moria' ('Black Chasm') is most commonly used to describe Khazad-dûm only after it had been abandoned by the Dwarves. By that definition, though, the phrase 'Dwarves of Moria' would be a contradiction in terms, and so 'Moria' here must be taken as a simple synonym for 'Khazad-dûm'.
