The son of Elros Tar-Minyatur, accounted the second King of Númenor. When the time came for him to inherit the Kingship, he chose not to accept it, and immediately abdicated in favour of his son, Tar-Amandil.

Footnotes

1	Vardamir did not take up the Sceptre, and instead passed it directly to his son Tar-Amandil. From a legal standpoint, however, he was considered to have ruled as King for a single year.
