Pet Text Commands

usage: /pet < attack | follow | stay | assist < on | off > | guard | aggressive | passive | skill1 | skill2 | skill3 | status | release | releaseall | rename <name> >

attack - Causes the pet to attack the owner's current target.

follow - Causes the pet to stop attacking its current target and return to and follow the owner. However, this does not toggle off the Guard or Aggressive stances. Therefore, while it will stop attacking the current target, in Guard stance, it will respond to subsequent attacks upon the owner or upon itself. In Aggressive stance, it will attack the next target it sees.

stay - Causes the pet to stay at its current position.

assist - When ON, the pet will attack a target the owner attacks.

guard - Causes the pet to attack anything that attacks the owner and to defend itself.

aggressive - Causes the pet to attack nearby attackable targets.

passive - Causes the pet to cease all attacks. If on Follow, the pet will return to the owner. If on Stay, the pet will return to the point it was told to stay. The pet will not defend itself even if it is attacked.

skill# - Causes the pet to use the special pet skill indicated.

status - Reports the pet's current "Stance" (e.g., Guard, Aggressive, or Passive) and Assist state (on or off).

release - Dismisses the pet

releaseall - Dismisses all pets.

rename - Gives the pet the specified name.

Most of the above commands are also available as icons on the pet status bar or on menus off the pet vitals bars. For instance, you can also rename a pet by right clicking on its portait on its vitals bar and choosing "Rename." To dismiss the pet, you can right click on the pet's portrait on the vitals bar and choose "Dismiss."

For Lore-master non-combat pets (cat, turtle, squirrel, etc.), there is no pet vitals bar and they do not respond to pet commands. However, you can rename non-combat pets with /pet rename <name>, and you can dismiss them with /pet release.
