Among the contested keeps in the Ettenmoors is the fortress of Lugazag. To and fro the struggle wages, with Angmar first retreating, then pushing forward to reclaim the ancient fortress.

The tyrannical leader of the forces that fight for control of and defend Lugazag is the Orc Tharbîl, the favored lieutenant of Akúlhun. Ruling with an iron fist, Tharbîl drives his forces to defend Lugazag and press towards Tol Ascarnen. As long as Tharbîl leads the forces of the Iron Crown at Lugazag, the Free Peoples must be wary.

In The Lord of the Rings Online, Free Peoples players seek to defeat the tyrant Tharbîl in an effort to capture the fortress of Lugazag, while monster players strive to defend him against attack.
