Born of immortal blood but doomed to live a mortal life, Arwen Evenstar, only daughter of Elrond Halfelven, is reputed to bear the likeness of her great-great-grandmother, Lúthien Tinúviel, the most beautiful woman to dwell in Arda. Like Lúthien before her, Arwen has chosen to give up her immortality for the love of a mortal Man, Aragorn, son of Arathorn, rightful heir to the thrones of both Arnor and Gondor. But their wedding is not assured, for her father has forbidden that any Man would marry his daughter, unless he takes the thrones of both kingdoms.
Aragorn and Arwen first met in Rivendell, and later yet again in the glades of Lothlórien, the realm of Arwen's grandmother, Galadriel, where they were betrothed. For many long years while Aragorn wandered alone in the wilderness awaiting the time of his ascension, Arwen dwelt in the land of her grandmother until she returned to Rivendell with her brothers, Elladan and Elrohir. The Shadow in the East had begun to stir, and so Elrond summoned her home for her protection. Little did he realize that Rivendell itself would become as an island amidst the storm.
Players in The Lord of the Rings OnlineTM: Shadows of AngmarTM, will have the opportunity to encounter and interact with the beautiful Arwen Evenstar after her return from Lothlórien, both in the new player experiences for Elves and Dwarves and in the halls of Elrond's House in Rivendell.

[edit] Noble Queen to Aragorn Elessar
The daughter and youngest child of Elrond and Celebrían, born in the third century of the Third Age. She lived out her long life at her father's House at Rivendell, and also at times among her mother's people in Lórien. In the year III 2951, when she was 2,710 years old, she returned from a time in Lórien to meet the young Aragorn, at that time being fostered by Elrond.
Soon after that encounter, Aragorn left to adventure in the Wild, but Arwen met him again in Lórien some twenty-nine years later. On the mound of Cerin Amroth, the two plighted their troth. Aragorn's horse Roheryn was a gift from Arwen, and when he went to war at the end of the Third Age, Arwen made a jewelled banner for him. It was this banner that he flew from the captured ships of the Corsairs at the Battle of the Pelennor.
After Aragorn became King, they wed at midsummer in the year of the Downfall of Barad-dûr. Arwen gave up her immortality to wed a mortal, the only Elf since Lúthien to do so. She remained Aragorn's Queen for more than a hundred years, but when at last he died, Arwen passed into the empty land of Lórien, and was never seen again.
[edit] The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen
[edit] The story of King Elessar and his Queen
A tale written in Gondor by Barahir, the grandson of Prince Faramir of Ithilien. It told the story of the romance of Aragorn and Arwen from the days before Aragorn's birth until Arwen's despair at his loss. It was inserted into a copy of the Thain's Book by Findegil the scribe in Minas Tirith, but in a shortened form - the passages relating to the War of the Ring were removed to avoid repeating the main tale of that Book. So the abridged Tale has descended to modern versions of the Red Book, and appears as part of Appendix A to The Lord of the Rings.
