When Celeborn and Galadriel passed into Middle-earth, they settled at last beyond the Misty Mountains among the silvan folk of Laurelindórenan, the Land of the Valley of Singing Gold. It’s name sprang from the colours of the mallorn trees which grow there, whose leaves turn golden in the autumn. Lord Celeborn is acknowledged throughout Middle-earth as the wisest of the Wise, while Galadriel his wife is known to have the gift of foresight, though much of the truth lies in the Ring of Power she secretly wields: Nenya, the Ring of Adamant. Together they rule the Golden Wood, protecting it through the power of Nenya.

In these latter days, the name of the wood has become simply Lothlórien, the Dreamflower. Evil does not enter there, though neither do many others, for they jealously guard their borders, distrustful of the world beyond. In these dark days, however, Lothlórien’s borders will soon be opened . . . War is upon their threshold.

Lothlórien is one of the most famous locations in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, and one of the last places of Power remaining to the forces of good. Players of The Lord of the Rings Online™: Mines of Moria™ will surely want to visit Lothlórien and offer their services to the Lord and Lady.
