Textual Reference
This skill and its name may derive from The Hobbit.
The skill description resembles chapter IV, where Gandalf is under attack from goblins. "...and when the goblins came to grab him, there was a terrific flash like lightning in the cave, a smell like gunpowder, and several of them fell dead."
The name may derive from chapter VI, when the dwarf Dori says to Gandalf, "All of a sudden you gave one of your blinding flashes..."
