Protectors of Thangúlhad
"What was once an important fortification of the Enemy is now held by a small band of Elves. Unfortunately, the Enemy is marching there in force. Fortunately, some of the ballistae and catapults still function...."

Player Entry
Quest begins on the southern end of Thangulhad. Three ballistae sit in close proximity to one another and are described as "East, Center, and West."  Beyond the wall the ground is marked in front of each to show where the ballista will strike.  The player is supposed to time the triggering to fall when the enemy arrive in the circles.  The avenue of attack will be announced as east, center, or west.  There are five waves of attacks followed by a final boss.  The ballistae do not appear to have much affect on the enemy so it is necessary to head to the ground every wave to keep the NPC alive.


Peripherally, there is an elite that shows up to the north of Thangulhad who is destroying northern balistae.  He slows you, which makes getting back to defend the south side and the NPC a bit treacherous.
