The Barrow-downs skirmish is unique in that it's a defense skirmish but you're not expected to survive. The goal is simply to see how long you can last.
Initial Room
When you first enter, you will be in a small room with a campfire in the center and a Shade standing by the way out. Run forward to the Shade and the Shade will invite you to "Follow, if you dare." When you exit the room, you will be in the regular Barrow-downs instance. If you die and release, you will be brought back to this room. If everyone from your party is dead or in this first room, the skirmish will be ended.
The skirmish
There will be successive waves of adds and occasional lieutenants, all of whom will periodically be buffed.

- Simple Skill: Without performing any fellowship manoeuvres
- 25 Skirmish Marks, available in 3, 6, 12 sizes
- Unvanquished: Without being defeated
- 35 Skirmish Marks, available in 3, 6, 12 sizes
- Strength of Endurance: Just survive, that's it
- 45 Skirmish Marks, available in 3, 6, 12 sizes
- Mercy of the Free Peoples: Without defeating any lieutenants
- 50 Skirmish Marks, available in 6, 12 sizes
- Weathering the Storm: Do the skirmish at Level 70
- 75 Skirmish Marks, available in 6, 12 sizes
