Player Entry

This instance is part of the In Their Absence set (directions on how to find the instance to unlock it are on that page). The challenge on Tier 2 is to rouse and defeat all of the corpses in the final boss room.

The instance is in two parts. Both are completely linear, with the exception of an optional stone bridge containing one pathing mob in the very first part of the instance. The first part, the poison level, is out in the open. The second part, the disease level, is below ground.

The buff each other when near each other and will periodically break off to go see how the sibling is doing. They may then be pulled back away from each other. It's possible that they actually have the same defences -- Angaidh's parse was taken when he was away from his sister and consequently didn't have the Aura:Strength of Shadow buff.

The siblings use a couple of different quite damaging fears. It is highly reccomended that fear pots be brought or that characters have some way to clear fear.

Disease level

This level is basically a walk around a square. On the sides and top of the square are four minibosses. On the bottom of the square (only reachable after defeating each of the three minibosses) Ferndûr is found.

In the first room, a sniveling man named Scristan is found. He is a brigand who lost his nerve and wouldn't go any further.

  • "Just leave me be. I'll go no further, not for all the gold of the dwarves!"

These swift little worms will attempt to infect you, seemingly disappearing while inflicting a disease condition. If the disease is allowed to expire, a fully sized Rot Maggot will spawn and you will take heavy damage. (If the disease is cured, the maggot will be forced out and will run away before trying to infect another player.) The Rot Maggots can spawn more Rot Maggot Larvae in turn using an interruptible induction, so killing the larvae and curing their infestations should be your first priority, lest your fellowship become overwhelmed by them .
