Description

Physical Description: Alyesse is tall and slender, with a lithe, delicate frame that belies her strength. She normally prefers raiment of bright hues, preferring red, indigo, gold, and green over earthy sienna or umber. Her hair is gold-blonde, framing a pale countenance and falling mid-back in length. Her eyes reflect both cobalt blue and verdigris green.

Personality Description: Idealistic, passionate, and occasionally uncertain, Alyesse has a positive view of Middle-Earth despite the weary gloom and doom that many Elves suffer from. Laughter glitters almost constantly in her eyes.

Bio

One of the two daughters of Losse and Menelverè, Alyesse is a native of Lothlorien. The first half-century of her life was spent in sylvan bowers of the Golden Wood with her sister, Lilithiel and a close friend, Tefthalion. Years were spent in play, learning the joy starlight, song and dance. She became known for some minor skill with flower-preservation and jewelcraft and a particular penchant for cooking artful and intricate feasts.

However, as she grew, Alyesse found these idyllic domestic pursuits ill-suited to her lively and questioning personality. As she explored the boundaries of Lothlorien, she found herself more often in the company of rangers than other elf-maidens, and determined that she wished to become a Hunter. While learning the skills of survival and archery with those rangers, she first heard of the stretching reach of Shadow and the danger that it posed to all denizens of Middle-earth.

Now aware of the dangers that threatened the rest of the land, Lothlorien’s elegant and eternal safety began to trouble Alyesse. She felt the Elves had a duty to protect all children of Middle-earth, not to hide away in a realm protected by a Ring of Power (Nenya, the Ring of Water) while the rest of world withered in darkness. Alyesse began to feel stifled by her unchanging surroundings. Her burning concerns were scorned by many of the forest’s loremasters as pointless thoughts from a maiden lacking any significant experience and years. Yet her disquiet eventually came to the attention of the Lady of the Golden Wood, Galadriel.

Galadriel offered Alyesse the opportunity to leave Lothlorien with two choices - to retire into the West or to explore Middle-earth and combat Darkness. Inspired by her youthful idealism and restlessness, Alyesse chose self-exile, calling together the kinship of Tirith Rhilshen to accompany her as she journeyed to Ered Luin.

With nearly a score of members, Tirith Rhilshen persisted as an adventuring troupe, based in the elvish city of Duillond in Ered Luin. They dutifully investigated and destroyed orc, goblin, and brigand encampments for several months. However, after acquiring a threatening artifact in the Red Swamp of Agamaur, Alyesse became dangerously obsessed with her quest to stamp out Shadow - at any cost.

Upon the advice of the minstrels Lilithiel and Tefthalion, she eventually relinquished the blood-stained relic to Elrond, Master of the Last Homely House. It took the young elf a few weeks to come to terms with her resentment over the fact that Elrond had judged her unfit to retain the relic gleaned from the Circle of Blood. Counseled by Tefandil, a wise Captain of Gondor, Alyesse eventually did accept that judgment. As Alyesse began to reevaluate her priorities and, indeed, her life, she resolved to protect and strengthen only that which was personally dear to her.

Thus, further separating herself from the land of her birth, she resolved to found her own family and bloodline, forming the House of Tirith-Rhilshen.
