Ernie’s tale is one of loss. Legend has it that in the early days of Middle Earth, he roamed with his companion, Keebler.

One day in what is now known as the Great Barrows in Breeland, they were battling fell spirits, when a creature more deadly than a balrog appeared - a Sr. Game Master. Ernie managed to escape with his life, but Keebler succumbed to her wounds. She was allowed to return to Middle Earth, but as with Glorfindel and Mithrandir, when she returned she was changed.

Ernie with no Keebler is like a dwarf with no Snow White - they become somehow more ambiguous and less defined. Many ask Ernie about an unknown person named Bert, and he is puzzled.

Ernie has tried to find peace by becoming a friend of the wild. However, sometimes his thirst for vengeance shows through as he hurls fire, lightning, and light toward his enemies.
