[edit] Description

Alphlin is a simple Wood-elf from Mirkwood and subject to King Thranduil. He lived not in the forest proper, however, for he is one of the raft-elves, who live in huts outside the forest and gather up the empty wine barrels floated down river from Thranduil's enchanted halls, making sure they return from whence they came. He's had much contact via trade both with Men from Esgaroth and Dale, so he is perhaps not so xenophobic as some of his more reclusive kin. (Although as he was only 10 when Smaug drove the Dwarves out of Erebor and destroyed Dale his contact with the Men of Dale is mostly recent, now that they have rebuilt under the guidance of Bard and his descendants.)

He was more or less drafted into fighting in The Battle of Five Armies, which rather put a damper on his barrel rafting. Now, however, he has begun trading as far away as Bree! Oh, my!

He's pretty excited to have a steel sword. Steel isn't something you see that often in Mirkwood and he's very honored to have been given such an advanced weapon and taught to use it.

He has a rather spoiled horse named Cordof. Don't feed the horse! He's fat enough as is. ...Come to think of it, ALL Alphlin's animal friends are overfed....

Personality Description:

Alphlin is generally idealistic and happy. He doesn't worry much about the future or, shockingly enough for an Elf, dwell much on the past -- although as he's rather young perhaps there's just not enough past for him to dwell on yet. He may appear aloof at times but in reality he's a bit spaced out and easily distracted and probably isn't paying much attention to his surroundings. He really quite likes other people and is unhappy being alone but he is usually a bit reluctant to approach ("bother" is how he puts it) people he doesn't know well.

The Arngeirr brothers of Dale (Heogarth, Heogrif and Falmadair), any fellow veterans of The Battle of Five Armies, Naranor the raven, Seregheleth the bear, and Nagloss the lynx.

Spiders. Brrrr,why did such creepy things take up in Mirkwood again? Although now that he has a steel weapon perhaps he could stand up to the eight-legged monstrosities. And of course he despises Yrch!
