Description

Physical Description: Tall and knightly, clad in mail and bearing a sword, Celdur's appearance recalls something of the great Elf-heroes of the Elder Days, though he himself is a child of the Second Age. Few like him are left -- even among the folk of Rivendell -- in these days of the quiet waning of the Eldar. Celdur's Noldorin lineage is shown by his black hair, grey eyes, and proud bearing.

Personality Description: Celdur has dwelt in Imladris all the years of his long life; and while he has journeyed often on errands into the wild, or to other Elf-lands such as Lindon, his dealings with mortals have been few and fleeting. The inexperience shows. His manner among others is formal and aloof (though courteous), and he does not blend well among the rustic folk of the Shire or Bree-land. For that reason, as a matter of habit he avoids the settled lands of mortals. He is more likely to be found roaming the wild country on an errand, or else tarrying among the dwellings of the Elves, or of their friends the Rangers.

Celdur is essentially a professional soldier; he has no crafting skill and has never married.

Bio

Celdur was born in the refuge of Imladris not long after its founding in the middle of the Second Age. His parents were among those Noldorin refugees who had fled the ruin of Eregion, following Elrond to the valley of Rivendell. Celdur grew up in that hidden refuge and became strong in arms, and for long years he has helped to defend Imladris during those times when the protection of Vilya alone has not been enough.

Many years, and many battles against the Shadow, has Celdur seen. He stood, shield in hand, at the siege of Barad-dûr long ago. He has accompanied the sons of Elrond on many of their dangerous errands against the Orcs. When Angmar arose in the Third Age to assail the realms of Arnor, Celdur was there. He defended Rivendell when it was itself besieged, and rode forth with the host of Elrond to the last battle against the Witch-king.

Now that Angmar is rising again, Celdur stands ready to confront the old evil a second time.
