Description

Physical Description: Endowed with the grace and agility typical of the Firstborn, Iavaswen is capable of enduring great hardships and long travels, usually with a smile.

Personality Description: Quiet yet unassuming, Iavaswen is eager to help anyone in need, and she has been seen in regions as diverse as the Lone Lands and North Downs and the Shire (in the latter region some inhabitants won't swear to have seen an Elf, but they still aren't sure....) Iavaswen enjoys farming, cooking, and tailoring and has been known to outfit several members of her kinship.

A side note--Iavaswen rarely indulges in the use of liquor, so she is not oft seen in the taverns of the Shire, and only appears in The Prancing Pony when seeking a friend or gathering news. Occasionally during festival occasions she partakes a little, but otherwise she prefers to remain sober. Only recently she divulged the reason for her abstention: Apparently one Midsummer she overindulged during festivities in Imladris, and was accidentally recorded in Shire history as the elf who trilled: "Bilbo the hobbit on a pony, my dear! Isn't it delicious!" (Farionthir, her husband, was not the elf who agreed that it was "most astonishing wonderful." He was busy at the wood-fires.)

Bio

Iavaswen was born in Imladris to Ainuril, an armsman in the service of Lord Elrond, and his wife, who served the Lady Celebrian. When Lady Celebrian sailed to the West, Iavaswen's mother went with her. Iavaswen and her father opted to remain in Middle Earth as the days darkened, hoping to use their skills to mend a world torn by the Shadow. Iavaswen meantime had married the reticent hunter, Farionthir, a one-time refugee from Lindon who found peace in Imladris. She is rarely seen apart from her husband, and he himself admits that she is the brightest star of his life.

A few years after the Lady Celebrian sailed to the West, Farionthir and Iavaswen went with a party of Elves to harass the Orcs in the Misty Mountains. During an ambush against the Orcs, they managed to free a young Dwarf named Svend, who has been captured by the Orcs as he made his way from the Iron Hills to the Blue Mountains. Svend pledged his life to their service, and an interesting friendship has resulted.
