Sammath Gûl
Was going to merge Sammath Gul (now Sammath Gûl) to Dungeon:Sammath Gûl. Wasn't sure if there was a particular way you wanted to put the user article onto the end of the official lorebook entry. Cheers! - Snorii 00:52, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- Why? Other than a Google map marker for the entrance, there's nothing there and (judging by the "official" pages for the other instances) there will likely never be anything worthwhile there. Anyway, the Lorebook is a wiki, so feel free to transclude it if you want. ;) Banaticus ( talk • contribs) 02:40, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Accent Characters
Didn't you make a page somewhere that showed all the various accent characters, like ú or ë? I was wanting to link to it on my user page so I could find it easily. - Snorii 16:09, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I made an Accents page. I'll put a redirect to that at "Accent" just to make it a little easier to find. Thanks for the compliment, that you like it enough that you'd want to link to it from your user page. :) Banaticus -- talk to me • my contributions 03:56, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
A Guide
Hello, I'm trying to put together a guide (for what it's worth), it just an outline but could you look into that? Due to my local setting I might be off with some terminology. I am also unsure of how are things done around here so I use what I know from my Wikipedia past. :) I've been told to contact you since I come from Europe and cannot access the forums (I can read, I just cannot post) and there is no other place to serve as a community portal. --Æled | (talk) 13:28, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Saw your post on forums, I'm putting the work on that on hold. Having a "Lorebook needs you!" campaign to bear some fruit would seem, well, wishful thinking, although having a poll in the general section to see how people feel about the Lorebook might show us something. Just an idea, I'd sell my soul to be able to post on US forums, but there's no buyer :) I'll try to do something on our side. --Æled | (talk) 11:25, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
We need a "Lorebook needs you!" campaign here in the states. I always see new guides pop up on the forums by ppl who aren't aware of the lorebook capabilities. --Jaylaxel
Gathering forces
(I assume you're still on vacation but I post this anyway) Seeing that my thread caught some attention I changed my mind, I think it's time to try that "Lorebook needs you" campaign - I've started a thread on European forums here. And the actual gathering place is here. --Æled | (talk) 18:14, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
A Late Response
Just in case you're still kickin' around, I finally saw your questions on my talk page and a some (spoiler:useless) response. Sorry for the nearly year-long delay! --AtteSmythe 07:25, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
question about wikitables and editing
I like the idea of changing the information from text to a table on the skirmish compendium. I'm not sure about editing tables myself. Is there a way to add visible lines for the various columns so that it will be easier to read? - Maestro —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Maestro (talk • contribs).
- The problem is that wikitables do not allow lines to be draw between cells (or between rows/columns). You can either put a border around a table, or you can put a border around every cell individually, then add a border to a span that's enclosing the table. One thing that would help that I completely forgot about was adding "text-align:center;" to the top of the table's style box. Also I just learned about this lorebook box top template that I used on Relics -- that might be worth looking into. It might be good to make a template to hold common skills, which all basically seem to be be 3-4 parameters (rank, level, then one or two other things) over a span of 20 ranks -- this way all the tables would look the same and if we ever changed the template in the future then the change would be applied to every table automatically. But I digress. Wikipedia solves this problem by adding a class to the top of the tables, then having CSS that adds a style to the HTML that is generated by the underlying wiki software. This would be the best way to do it here, but we cannot edit the CSS here so we'd have to get Duwis onto that. Perhaps we could modify the lorebook box template to have a class, although that would probably break infoboxes, perhaps we should make a new template that calls lorebook box top or something. Did you notice how I changed the Herbalist section? There is no Herbalist section in the Skirmish Compendium any more, instead it pulls directly from the Herbalist page -- when you edit a Herbalist trait on the Skirmish Compendium page, although it looks like you're editing the Skirmish Compendium, you're actually editing the Herbalist page. ;) This way we don't build up two sets of information with some skills having high ranks on one page but low ranks on the other and vice versa. I'd like to do the same with the other skirmish classes, but haven't gotten to it yet. If you go to the top of the Herbalist section on the Skirmish Compendium and look at it, you'll see the "See Also" template I added, then the transclusion for the Herbalist page. I made sure to use 4 ='s on the Herbalist page so that it would fit in nicely on the Skirmish Compendium. Banaticus (talk • contribs 11:07, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
